There is a great deal of interest in therapies that can
remove toxins in our environment. Healthy living and eating
can help reduce exposure to heavy metals, but they cannot be
avoided. One approach is Chelation therapy. Chelation refers
to the way certain synthetic and body amino acids can bind
to metal molecules and transport them harmlessly out of the
body.
Originally, most Chelation was done intravenously (IV),
where the chelating substance is given by injection directly
into a vein. Although this treatment is invasive and
expensive, it may be required for severe levels of lead and
other toxins. Fortunately, there are Chelation therapies
that are successful when taken by mouth rather than
intravenous infusion. These are oral chelating agents with
EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra – acetic Acid) being very
effective.
Other agents that work orally are the amino acids, N –Acetyl
Cysteine (NAC) and L – Arginine. NAC is metabolized into
Glutathione which acts as a powerful antioxidant and
detoxifier in the body. Heavy metals like lead, mercury and
arsenic are removed from the body by NAC. L – Arginine
produces Nitric Oxide which reduces blood vessel stiffness,
increases blood flow and improves blood vessel function. It
is recommended that levels of Vitamin C & E intake be
increased during a Chelation program. They act as powerful
antioxidants and help in healing arteries.
It is important to remove toxic metals, as their presence is
associated with the formation of molecules called free
radicals. When weak bonds split, free radicals are formed.
Free radicals are very unstable and react quickly with other
compounds, trying to gain stability. Generally, they attack
the nearest stable molecule. When attacked, the stable
molecule becomes a free radical itself, beginning a chain
reaction.
Vitamin C & E protect the body against the destructive
effects of free radicals. These antioxidants neutralize free
radicals, ending the reaction. C & E don’t become free
radicals themselves by donating an electron, because they
are stable in either form. They act as scavengers, helping
prevent cell and tissue damage.
Some researchers link free radicals to cancer, heart disease
and other serious, chronic illnesses. Reducing free radical
activity may prevent common illnesses like arteriosclerosis
(hardening of the arteries), diabetes, arthritis and
hypertension.
Oral chelation therapy also helps reduce the effects of
living in a polluted world where heavy metals like mercury
and lead may be in the air and in our food. Contamination of
the water means toxins may appear in fish and seafood. Those
living in cities breathe polluted air. Oral Chelation is a
simple way to decrease the impact from environmental toxins
and free radical activity in the body.
By increasing circulation with the removal of overabundant
minerals and metals from the body, you can prevail over
chronic and debilitating conditions. We at Cardio Restore
believe our liquid oral
Chelation program can assist you in achieving that goal.
